Today was one of those rare Mondays that you don't have to be anywhere special by any certain time ... and everyone else does. Such a total blessing to go to the empty beach on a Monday in mid-October, to swim and sun with two great friends who also didn't have to be anywhere at an exact time (super rare).
Coffee, fruit, conversation, trance-out to the waves ... then as the light shifted to golden, wrap it up and head to Hinano's in mid-afternoon, with our choice of stools (exceedingly rare) at the bar for their famous burgers. And a Red Stripe. Completely happy in the moment, listening to classic rock as the sun streamed in the windows.
Feeling super fulfilled, we got on the bikes and headed back for the path ... to be greeted by this mural that kind of states the obvious, but always good reminders.
To thine own self be true. True happiness is only the present circumstance. The right thing and the hard thing are often the same thing. Be kind at heart.
The girls on the wall don't look all that happy, but I was. Am. What a perfectly great day. Thanks AGAIN, Venice.
